No Al, thank YOU

Acknowledgements are always awesome. Al Wirez has a bunch of them in his blog posting from yesterday (excerpted below), and I’m happy to be on the list. Additionally, since Al was so kind as to thank several folks for their help in putting the Faux Jean re-union together, I thought I’d be generous and pass along his thanks.

No Al, thank YOU.

The below extended quotation is from Al Wirez MySpace blog.

“On the weekend of March 14th and 15th, my old band Faux Jean got together and played two reunion shows at the Uptown Bar and The Turf Club. I feel props are in order. First and foremost, props my beautiful band mates for being so amazing. Props to Brad Kern for making us sound like one hundred million dollars. Props to the clubs for allowing us to book back to back shows on a weekend and letting us convince them that it wouldn’t hurt attendance at either show. Props to City Pages for putting such a sweet photo of us in their Critics Picks and A-list sections. Props to the Nightinghales, Wild Things, Idle Hands, John Swardson, and Luke’s Angels for being so gracious to play with us and making it a total “friends and family” vibe. Props to our long time friends David de Young and Jeff Henneman for documenting the event in only they way they can-you guys rock rock…ROCK! And props to the talented Marissa Nelson for designing our ad for vita.mn and making beautiful flyers—so beautiful that we had problems with people stealing them. The shows were a kick.”
